It was amazing to escape the cool of Edmonton’s December for a week in Grenada. Brett and I flew down with his parents, Dan and Heather, to meet his sister, Marcy, who had just finished veterinary school at St. George's University. We enjoyed amazing weather and a variety of island activities. And when we weren't out adventuring, we enjoyed time by the pool of our amazing villa.
Perfect for floating,
And enjoying the sunsets.
We visited a traditional sugar cane rum distillery (which boasts of rum with 69% and 75%+ alcohol)
And also had some beautiful flowers and old buildings.
We made the short hike up to the Welcome Stone for some fantastic views,
And a stop at Levera Beach.
We visited the old Pearl's airport which contains several derelict planes..
We enjoyed daily fruit from a nearby 'fruit guy'..
I thoroughly enjoyed Grand Anse beach,
y
And we also made a quick stop at a black sand beach..
We spent an afternoon snorkeling and enjoying views from the boat (where I also enjoyed a few hours of seasickness..)
And made a quick stop at St. George's campus,
(easy to see why Marcy went to school here!!)
And a trip to the town of St. George's
Our one rainy day was spent attempting a hike through the slippery rainforest trail..
The views were limited but the experience was an adventure!
This small island gave us an awesome trip, and has me dreaming of future Caribbean adventures!
